The web team has been pretty busy this year. In addition to designing and maintaining this site for CHS, we have several other projects under construction. In addition to the projects shown above, we recently competed in the preselection round of Cre824, a world-wide web design competiton where the designers have 24 hours to create a website about a given theme.
Twenty-four hours is not much time to come up with a concept, much less fully develop it. More than half of the teams that entered did not post a website, probably because they could not finish in just 24 hours.
We were competing against amateurs and professionals from 83 countries around the world. Unfortunately we did not make it into the final round of competition, but we are proud of our design just the same. The theme was "water is life."
The web design team chosen from the US to move on to the final round was The Supergroup and their design is really awesome. They are a professional web design group from Atlanta. We hope we can learn enough to get jobs with them when we graduate!
Starting February 25th, we will be competing in the Deloitte Virtual Business Challenge. That is a role-playing competition where our goal is to organize a virtual fundraiser to raise money for charity. If we win, we will get $2000 donated to the United Way of Chattanooga in our names! By the way, did we mention that we also maintain over 400 computers and provide technical support for over 1000 users at Central? Wow--we really have been busy this year!
