Technology, Business and Communications Academy

The Technology, Communications, and Business Academy enhances students’ success while in high school by preparing them to succeed in entry-level business positions or in post-secondary study. The Academy incorporates a fully-integrated and relevant academic and business-related curriculum based on contextual and project-oriented learning, organized around three pathways: Accounting/Finance, Marketing, and Information Technology.

Students develop analytical skills, interpersonal skills, collaborative skills, problem-solving skills and leadership skills, as they work together in their classes and through field experiences. As part of classroom and academy-wide activities, students will be involved in solving problems based on real-world and simulated work-place experiences. The Academy recognizes the critical role of communication skills; therefore, a focus on communications in the business context is an integral part of the curriculum. Preparing students to work in a technologically advanced global world is a cornerstone of this academy.
